!! INFORMATION REGARDING CORONA VIRUS !!
!! IMPORTANT NOTICE !!
If you have any COVID-19 related symptoms please contact NHS Inform or NHS 24 on 111, they are the first point of contact for all COVID-19 related symptoms during the hours of 8am – 6pm and NOT your GP practice.
If your symptoms are not COVID-19 related please call us on 0131 652 2004 as normal and one of the team will take your details and arrange for you to have a call back from a clinician
!! UPDATED PATIENT NOTICE PLEASE READ!!
To minimise risk to our patients and staff Niddrie Medical Practice has CLOSED its doors and has decided to stop all routine appointments at the surgery. If for any reason you must come to the surgery please come to the SIDE DOOR and phone us on 0131 652 2004 to alert us. If you have an appointment booked, the clinician will call you around your scheduled appointment time on the day of your appointment. If you do not require a phone call, you should reply ‘cancel’ to your text message reminder. We are no longer booking appointments online.
If you have NO symptoms you can call the helpline on 0800 028 2816 for advice.
If you have a medical problem, please call the surgery as usual and give the receptionist some idea about the problem. A clinician will then call you back sometime during that day. If your problem can not be dealt with over the phone, we might invite you to a video consultation or give you instructions on how to come to the surgery to be seen. Some services might have to be temporarily suspended.
Please do not call us repeatedly since this will ultimately slow our currently extremely pressured service further. You might get a phone call after 6pm still.
For further information, please check the following webpage: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19
Please continue to order your prescriptions in the usual way. Please DO NOT stockpile medications. WE WILL NOT BE HANDING OUT PRESCRIPTIONS FROM THE PRACTICE PLEASE CHOOSE A DESIGNATED CHEMIST.
If your current health problem requires a blood test and you have already arranged an appointment for that, please still attend as long as you do not have a new onset cough or a fever.
If you wish to register please complete the forms on the website and email them to us and we will deal with registrations in this way.
Many thanks for your co-operation with those inconvenient measures. The measures are designed to protect the most vulnerable from infection and ensure that we can continue to provide a service to all our patients in the coming weeks and months.
